Dr. James Holt, professor at Washington State University, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 TOCICO International Conference in Bad Nauheim, Germany. James learned of theory of constraints in the late 1980’s, becoming a Jonah in 1990 and teaching theory of constraints as a faculty member at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) the Air Force's graduate school of engineering and management at Wright Patterson AFB. James was instrumental in introducing TOC in the Air Force logistics and maintenance depots. After retirement from the Air Force, James joined the Engineering Management at the Washington State University where he was a pioneer in both distance learning teaching and in teaching theory of constraints in academia. During his tenure at Washington State, James developed a graduate level theory of constraints certificate program, the first such program. James has taught thousands of students across the world in his distance learning courses on production (and supply chain), thinking processes, etc. James is an internationally known speaker on theory of constraints and coauthor of a chapter: Theory of Constraints in Complex Organizations in the TOC Handbook and numerous other publications on theory of constraints. James has served on the TOCICO board of directors for a number of years and as chairman for two years.

Congratulations to James and his great achievement!
