About this Conference Video: Embraer is the world's 3rd largest aircraft manufacturer, after Boeing and Airbus, with annual sales of $5-6 billion.

In 2018, it achieved something its larger competitors have not managed in recent years. They designed and launched a new aircraft on-time, on-budget, and over-scope.

When launching the multi-billion dollar development of the E-Jet E2 range, Embraer reset the standard for the aircraft industry. Others took at least 85 months to develop and launch a new plane. Using Critical Chain, Embraer took under 60 months - 60% of the average time taken by the five most recent large passenger aircrafts. This project won the PMI 'Project of the Year' award in 2019.

This was not a fluke. Embraer has been working to improve the performance of their projects for over 20-years, and in this keynote presentation, Mauricio Almeida will describe their inspiring journey.

About the Presenter: Mauricio Almeida is the Vice president of Engineering for Commercial Aviation, responsible for the development of the E-Jets second-generation aircraft family and the product modification and engineering support to all EMBRAER commercial airplanes. Joined Embraer in 1985 as an engineer and has occupied different leadership positions in engineering, product development and Programs. Involvement with CCPM dates to 1998, when Embraer started applying its concepts in engineering projects. Since 2012 has been working to improve the implementation of Critical Chain Project Management for the multi-project product modification environment and to new aircraft developments. In this period also led the lean engineering workstream of EMBRAER excellence program
