Dr. Alan Barnard - Simulation Modelling of Complex Project Portfolio

Whilst Critical Chain has an intuitive feel, few are willing to change their whole project portfolio management methods based on a feeling. In this keynote presentation, Alan Barnard will share examples where large organizations used simulation models - a digital twin of their project operations - to help them to test their different operating methods.

Douglas MacKinnon - Delivering Value from Good Enough CCPM
Charles River Lab

Charles River Laboratories used Critical Chain in the management of their extensive portfolio of IT projects. Despite far-from-ideal circumstances, and significant inertia and resistance, implementing Critical Chain helped deliver significant value to the organization. Before Critical Chain, about 55% of IT projects were delivered on time. Within a year of implementing Critical Chain this rose to over 90%, and has remained at over 90% for the past 2 years. At the same time end-user satisfaction with the delivered solutions rose. The biggest measure was the improvement in employee engagement and job satisfaction.
