TOCICO Honors Through the Years

These awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for their remarkable contributions to the Theory of Constraints (TOC). These esteemed accolades celebrate the trailblazers who have exemplified excellence in implementing TOC methodologies, transforming industries, and achieving extraordinary results.

AWARD CRITERIA

  • In recognition of demonstrated outstanding and ongoing service to TOC and TOCICO. 

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Must already be a recipient of the TOCICO Lifetime Achievement Award

    • Must have demonstrated outstanding and ongoing service to the TOCICO and TOC Community for a minimum 3 years after receiving the TOCICO Lifetime Achievement Award

    • Must have held the position of TOCICO Board Member for a minimum of 2 terms

    • Must have been a TOCICO Committee Chairperson for 2 or more years

    • Shows a passionate and dedicated pursuit to help TOCICO improve, grow, and serve its member base, and to advance TOC

  • In recognition for successfully introducing an innovative new TOC product or service to the market

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Successful introduction of an innovative new TOC product or service to the market. This may be an additional feature of an existing product or feature.

    • It is strongly encouraged that the product or service must satisfactorily answer the TOC 6 questions of new technology, product, or service.

  • In recognition of outstanding contribution to the TOC Body of Knowledge

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Clearly satisfies the following process:

      1. Identify a "giant" not a "chupchik".

      2. Identify the enormity of the area not addressed by the giant.

      3. Get on the giants’ significant shoulders.

      4. Identify the conceptual difference between the reality that was improved so dramatically by the giant and the area untouched.

      5. Identify the wrong assumption.

      6. Conduct the full analysis to determine the core problem, solution etc.

    • Shares the results with TOCICO via conference presentation, webinar, white paper, new knowledge paper, academic publication or similar.​

  • In recognition of an individual or organization for successfully applying TOC to address and overcome societal or personal level problems

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Successfully applied TOC to address and overcome societal or personal level problems 

      • Examples of societal: provide a system of clean drinking water to villages in poor regions, clean up major oil spills and prevent environmental disasters, reduce cycle times to produce vaccines, reduce gang violence.  Examples of personal level: to reduce addiction, reduce recidivism, reduce bullying in schools, prevent suicide, to achieve higher learning and grades, to achieve better health.

    • Must demonstrate the application of TOC concepts and principles to tackle a major problem and deliver significant results. Can be on the global level or individual level and everything in between.

  • In recognition of the breakthrough, game-changing solutions illustrating the organization goal of ever-flourishing that develop a path or model for others to emulate

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Must already be a recipient of the POOGI Award

    • Sustainability of criteria for a minimum of 5 years after receiving POOGI Award or minimum 8 years of sustained TOC progress.

    • Represents the ideals and objectives of the TOC community. 

    • Upper management to receive award, and provide presentation(s) to the TOCICO International Conference sharing their approach, and results.

    • Must clearly demonstrate:

      1. How TOC methods and practices were deployed to sustain ongoing improvement

      2. Can demonstrate implementation of TOC across divisions, or product ranges, or geographies

      3. How these TOC methods and practices can be emulated by others as a model or pathway

      4. Contributions to the TOC community (Conference/Webinar presentations, hosting site tours, panel discussions, other)

    • It is expected that Award recipients are current members of TOCICO

  • In recognition of significant, consistent and sustainable performance improvement using TOC tools, philosophies, and approaches over a minimum of 3 years. 

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Clearly demonstrate connectivity between the use of TOC concepts and principles, approach, and methodologies and the outcomes achieved

    • Presentation to TOCICO International Conference sharing their approach and results

    • Must clearly demonstrate:

    1. The transition through the process of Five Focusing Steps or demonstrating the Change Question Sequence: What to Change, What to change to, How to cause the change

    2. TOC methods and practices deployed in such a way that can serve as an exemplar for implementation

    3. The improvement is demonstrably superior to the starting condition

    4. Contributions to the TOC community (Conference/Webinar presentations, hosting site tours, panel discussions, other)

    5. Must be a current member of TOCICO

  • In recognition of an organization for achieving sustained breakthrough performance improvements over and above TOC benchmarks

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Demonstrated outstanding results for minimum period of one year

    • Presentation to TOCICO at a conference or webinar providing insights into achieving the results

    • Must be a current member of TOCICO

  • In recognition of an organization that has achieved noteworthy transformational success through the application of TOC concepts, principles, and practices 

    Awarded as runner up to the “Outstanding TOC Implementation Award” and worthy of recognition.

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Demonstrated significant improvement over starting conditions for a minimum period of one year

    • Presentation of case study to TOCICO at a conference or webinar

    • Must be a current member of TOCICO

  • In recognition of an outstanding TOC Champion, leading an organization to achieve outstanding results with TOC 

    This Award can have sub-categories for health, government, education, etc...

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Demonstrated sustainable results for one year or more (independent of market price cycles)

    • Presentation to TOCICO at a conference or webinar providing insights into achieving the results

    • Must be a current member of TOCICO

  • In recognition for successfully introducing an innovative new TOC product or service to the market

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Successful introduction of an innovative new TOC product or service to the market. This may be an additional feature of an existing product or feature.

    • It is strongly encouraged that the product or service must satisfactorily answer the TOC 6 questions of new technology, product, or service.

  • In recognition of showing strong potential early in your TOC journey

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Be age 29 years or under or have less than 5 years experience in their TOC career.

    • Demonstrate strong potential and growing skill through practical or academic contributions using TOC.

    Recipient will receive a complimentary TOCICO membership for 1 year.

  • In recognition of significant contribution as a volunteer to TOCICO and the TOC community

    A recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

    • Awarded to an individual who has volunteered service to support TOCICO initiatives over a period of time (1 one year).

    • Must have served proactively in committees or sub-committees on special projects

    • Provided advice, guidance, and support to the organization

    • Is not a member of the TOCICO Board of Directors

    • Must be a current member of TOCICO
