Session Types
All session submissions must clearly align to one or more of the program lenses:
Why change matters | What needs to change | How change is carried out and sustained
Practitioner Case Studies / Success Stories
Case study submissions should clearly show why change was needed, what was changed, and how TOC was applied.
Submissions should describe:

The problem or challenge faced
-
The TOC-based solution applied
-
How the solution was implemented or delivered
-
The results achieved
Practitioner-led presentations are strongly encouraged. Consultants are welcome to co-present alongside their clients.
Tools, Methods, or Thinking Process Sessions
These sessions focus on a specific TOC concept, method, or logic-based approach.
Submissions should:

Explain why the tool or method is needed (the problem or opportunity it addresses)
-
Walk through what the method or logic is
-
Show how it has been applied in practice
Hands-On Workshops / Application Labs
Interactive sessions that guide participants through the use or implementation of a TOC tool, logic stream, or decision framework.
These sessions should emphasize application and participation rather than presentation.
A limited number of workshops will be selected.
New Developments in TOC
Sessions exploring the advancement of TOC thinking, including:

New or extended TOC applications

Advanced tools or approaches
-
Contributions aligned with the Standing on the Shoulders of Giants (SOTSOG) framework
-
Integrations such as TOC + AI, where relevant and grounded in application
Sponsored Product or Platform Spotlights
Sponsored sessions must deliver clear educational value and align to the program themes. Product or platform content should focus on insight and application, not promotion.
Academic Paper
Academic paper submissions are managed through a separate process.

TOC Innovation Summit 2026
Manchester, UK | September 2–4
The TOC Innovation Summit welcomes academic contributions that advance the understanding, application, and development of the Theory of Constraints. Academic participation is intended to support thoughtful exchange between research and practice, with submissions reviewed in collaboration with the TOCICO Bridge to Academia Committee and the Summit Conference Committee. Papers should align to the Summit’s program focus and contribute meaningfully to the broader conversation around why change matters, what needs to change, or how change is carried out and sustained.
Academic Submission Requirements
Program Coordination
The TOCICO Bridge to Academia Committee will work alongside the TOCICO Global Summit 2026 Conference Committee to review submissions and determine appropriate placement to showcase selected papers at the conference. Additional scheduling details will be shared following review.

Submissions must have a clear tie to one or more of the Summit program lenses:

Submissions may address theoretical application of TOC, practical application of TOC, or a combination of both, provided they clearly align to the program lenses.
English
All materials must be submitted and presented live at the TOCICO Global Summit 2026 in Manchester in English.
Abstract Requirements
Abstracts submitted for peer review must include all required information as outlined in the submission form in order to be considered.
Feedback
Author/Speaker(s) agree to amend accepted submissions based on peer review feedback from the Bridge to Academia Committee and Conference Committee.
Presentation Template
Speakers selected to participate at the Summit must use the presentation template provided by TOCICO. No changes should be made to the TOCICO presentation template.
In-Person Presentation
Selected speakers must present their papers live, in person at the TOCICO Global Summit 2026 in Manchester. A special registration rate will be offered to accepted speakers.
Speaker Agreement
All speakers must accept the TOCICO Speaker Agreement, which grants copyright of the video recording to TOCICO and outlines the conditions for use and sharing of such video recording. Each speaker retains ownership of their content. TOCICO reserves the right to withdraw submissions from the program if the agreement is not accepted.
Content Guidelines
Presentations, abstracts, and papers must focus on content and knowledge. Selling, advertising, or marketing of products or services is not permitted. The final slide of the presentation deck may include author bio and contact information, including affiliation, logo, email, website, books, or courses.
Authors of Published Works
Authors of new or relevant books or publications may be considered, subject to review and acceptance. When a presentation is based on published material, authors may reference their work without a sponsorship fee. This accommodation is intended to encourage the sharing of new knowledge related to the Theory of Constraints. TOCICO reserves the right to review such presentations to ensure they remain within the boundaries of this policy.

* NO EXCEPTIONS: Please understand that these deadlines allow the needed time for peer review of the papers. Secondly, these deadlines allow the TOCICO to successfully prepare the conference program. If you need additional time, please consider a sponsored presentation as later deadlines are available.
